For the refurbishment of the Château de Drudas near Toulouse, interior design Studio PH2B submitted sketches and a technical challenge: to create a mobile-inspired chandelier that would bring life into the 7 meters tall staircase.
This gastronomic restaurant and hotel from the Relais & Chateaux collection was renovated with the history of the place in mind, which necessitated a lighting sculpture that was evocative of a classical chandelier – this was achieved by the use of white glass candles lit with LED bulbs in their base. The light metal structure permitted the conception of a monumental chandelier with only one fixing point on the ceiling.
The gilded details add a touch of preciousness and luxury onto this piece reminding of a constellation of stars when looked at from beneath. This model named ‘’Voltige’’ was turned into a horizontal version with impressive width.
